System messages occasionally appear on the display of the Thermomix ® TM5. This does not mean that your appliance is faulty. These are usually recommendations for action which you can recognize in abbreviated form on the display.
Here you will find an overview of the various system messages of the Thermomix ® TM5, along with their causes and recommended action to take. You can use the search function (Ctrl + F for Windows or Command + F for Mac) to find the code easier.

Locking mechanism |
These codes indicate that the lid cannot be locked, please check that the bowl and the lid are correctly positioned. If they are correctly positioned and the code persists, please test with another bowl if possible. If the other bowl works on your Thermomix® TM5, please replace it with a new bowl (purchase link). A repair is only required if the system message keeps reappearing. |

C224 | Mixing bowl contents too warm for the dough setting | The kneading mode can only be selected once the temperature in the mixing bowl has dropped below 60°C following cooking. If the temperature is any higher, the dough kneading mode cannot be started. There is no need for any repairs. |
C225 | Mixing bowl too warm for the turbo setting | The turbo mode is deactivated when the temperature in the mixing bowl exceeds 60°C. If working with hot food (over 60°C), never activate the turbo mode or increase the mixing speed abruptly. This may lead to scalding. There is no need for any repairs. |

Mixing bowl (heating) |
Check the 5 pins under your bowl: If one of the pins is broken, please replace it with a new bowl (purchase link). If all the pins are in good condition, test with another bowl if possible. If the other bowl works on your Thermomix® TM5, a new bowl is needed. If the other bowl does not work, a repair may be required. |
C52 | Mixing bowl (heating) |
If you have added very cold or frozen food to the mixing bowl, or if you have stored the mixing bowl in the fridge and fitted it directly to the appliance, please take the contents of the mixing bowl out, rinse the bowl with warm water, put the contents back in the bowl and carry on with the recipe as swiftly as you can. To prevent this problem from happening again, always work swiftly when working with very cold and frozen ingredients. Otherwise, clean the mixing bowl contacts and refit the mixing bowl. If this does not solve the problem, the mixing bowl will need to be replaced. |

Motor overload |
If this code appears in kneading mode: on a recipe with a long kneading time (e.g. 15 min or more) and/or a large quantity of flour (over 500g), the motor may go into safety mode to prevent overheating or overloading. Please wait 1 hour for the motor to cool down, or remove the food that is blocking the knife before making the next recipe or going to the next step. A repair is only required if the system message keeps reappearing. |
